ABSTRACT
Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo analisar os trabalhos publicados na revista Kairós Gerontologia, de 1998 a 2014, com o tema: Idosos acometidos por Acidente Vascular Encefálico. Pretendeu-se fazer uma reflexão sobre a importância da gerontogeriatria diante dessa temática, contribuindo para a promoção social do idoso, a partir de um olhar holístico. Ao término deste levantamento, podemos afirmar a importância do respeito à realidade desses idosos em seu contexto de vida, bem como as medidas preventivas nas áreas primárias, com conscientização da população para o controle de vários fatores de risco vasculares, como: pressão arterial, diabetes, colesterol, triglicérides, doenças cardíacas, além da necessidade de não fumar, ter uma alimentação saudável e praticar exercícios físicos.
This research aimed to assess the work published in the journal Kairos Gerontology, from 1998 to 2014, with the theme: elderly affected by cerebrovascular accident. It was intended to be a reflection of the importance of this thematic gerontogeriatria, contributing to the social integration of older persons, from a holistic look. At the end of this survey, we can affirm the importance of respect to reality of these elderly people in its context of life, as well as preventive measures in primary areas, with awareness of the population for the control of various vascular risk factors such as blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, triglycerides, heart disease, in addition to the need to refrain from smoking, having a healthy diet and physical exercise.
